Thank you for considering me as a speaker for your next event. I look forward to serving you and your ministry. My goal is to strengthen churches and ministries by faithfully and passionately communicating the Word of God. Since 1998, I have been preaching in large and small churches, at conferences, on college campuses, and in several countries. It would be a pleasure for me to work with you and meet the needs of your event, ministry, or church.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
Ever since I answered the call to preach I have been passionate about making, maturing, and mobilizing disciples of, for, and to all nations. My love for Jesus and disciple making has taken me to a dozen nations and nearly 20 states throughout the US.
In November of 2011, our family moved from Boston to New York to reproduce disciples and churches. Our journey to this point has been full of challenges and victories and I enjoy giving glory to God for how He has shown Himself faithful in our lives over and over again.
My wife, Kim, and I met in 2005 and married July 21, 2007. We have three children, Zoe, Zachary, and Caleb. You can read my full bio here.
A RECENT SERMON
TOPICS
Below is a sampling of seminars and sermons I have delivered that have fueled my own faith and have resonated within my own church setting and with other audiences. If you have a specific topic or text in mind for your church service or conference, please let me know.
❤️ | Loving Our Brothers, Sisters, and Neighbors: Renewing the Local Church Witness in Every Neighborhood
Many churches have lost their voice and their influence in their own neighborhoods. Basic biblical practices of bold gospel preaching, hospitality, and captivating acts of kindness can restore what has been lost. This seminar can be preached as a stand-alone sermon or a break-out session. This content can also be presented as a micro-coaching event personalized for church leaders.
✖️| Becoming a Disciple-Making Pastor: 11 Practices to Develop for Fruitful Ministry in the Local Church
The pastor or pastoral team must model and communicate fruitful disciple-making. First, we need to begin with the realization that discipleship and disciple-making are not the same. The Great Commission is to make disciples. This process of making disciples starts before a person is converted and continues as they are baptized into the church and are taught to observe Jesus’s commands. You might say that a disciple has truly made a disciple when that disciple is making disciple-making disciples. This seminar can be taught to a more general audience under the title: Becoming a Disciple-Making Disciple: 5 Practices to Develop for Fruitful Ministry through your Local Church.
⛪️ | Elders, Deacons and the Body of Christ
There has been a lot of confusion regarding the role of elders and deacons. Some churches have a solo pastor model with deacons functioning like overseers. Others have a plurality of elders, but they have become “yes” men for the senior pastor. Still other churches are asking the question about the role of women in pastoral ministry. By focusing on what the Bible says about these issues we can instill in our churches a more faithful and biblical pattern for leadership and service in the local church.
📈 | Guiding Your Church Through a Revitalization Process
There are 9 marks of a healthy church. Or is it 12 characteristics of a biblical church? Or is it 8 systems? 14 essentials? After studying through the Gospels and the 9 Testament and looking at half a dozen of the top research based summaries of what a healthy church should look like, Pastor Nathan will explain how he arrived at 11 biblical systems necessary for church revitalization. These 11 systems are similar to many of the other marks/characteristics/essentials that others have put together but now put together in a way that any church leader of any size can implement.
💒 | Biblical Submission and Authority in the Home and in the Local Church
Unfortunately, there is a lot of abuse in Christian homes and in Christian churches. Of course, it happens in the world as well. But part of the problem within the Christian community is that we have distorted the Bible’s teaching on male headship and submission. What is the responsibility of a husband to his wife? How should a pastor lead the local congregation? When we get this wrong, we either have abuses of power or an abdication of responsibility. The biblical guidance for husbands and wives and local church leaders and members is much more hopeful than that. Christians should experience joy and flourishing in our relationships with one another.
